Welcome to Kelowna Land & Orchard
Kelowna Land and Orchard Company Ltd. (KLO) is a working farm and commercial
apple orchard situated a short distance (10 minutes) from the city centre of Kelowna.
The orchard spans 150 acres and produces approximately four million pounds of fruit annually.
British Columbia produces about 30% of apples grown in Canada and KLO is one of the largest
and most modern orchard operations in the country.
Established in 1904, KLO was purchased by John Bullock in 1942. Today,
John’s son Richard, his wife Jacquie and children Nicole and John, continue the family
tradition. John Sr. and his wife Bertha, still live at the orchard in the original
farmhouse, built in the 1920’s.
In 1995, KLO recognized an opportunity to welcome visitors to the orchard and
introduced educational tours of its farm operation. The initiative was extremely well received
by locals and tourists alike, and today, KLO welcomes more than 70,000 visitors annually,
including thousands of elementary school students who come for educational field trips.
The Ridge Restaurant is a quaint and inviting eatery is set in the midst
of the orchard and offers a spectacular view of the city. Open for lunch and dinner,
Executive Chef Travis Hackl’s menus highlight the bounty of the Okanagan.
The Ridge
can also be booked for private group functions and is ideal for catered weddings,
business functions, anniversaries and birthday celebrations.
Added attractions include a petting zoo, and for those who
enjoy shopping, the The Farm Store features
a large selection of local crafts, preserves and souvenirs. Fresh fruit and KLO’s
own delicious 100% pure apple juice are sold at the adjoining market, along with
The Ridge’s delectable pastries, including pies and breads made daily by
Pastry Chef, Sunny Rosser.
The newest attraction at KLO is Raven Ridge Cidery , where a
line of apple cider beverages includes varieties of iced apple cider as well as a sparkling cider.
Visitors can taste and purchase Raven Ridge ciders at the new Tasting Bar, located next to the
Farm Store. Fuji, Braebrun, Ambrosia and Granny Smith apples were harvested for the 2003 iced
cider vintages and the new True Sparkling Cider is taking champagne lovers by storm.
